Frequently Asked Question

What is order validation software and do I need it?

Order validation software checks every item scanned at the pack station against the expected contents of the order — in real time, before the box is sealed. It's the difference between hoping the right items were packed and knowing they were.

What does order validation do?

Validates each scanned barcode against the order's expected items
Alerts the operator immediately if the wrong item is scanned
Tracks packed vs expected quantities per order line
Flags over-picks, under-picks and unexpected items
Computes a pack status at session end: Complete, Incomplete or Overpacked
Provides an order-level view of fulfilment accuracy in the portal

Do I need it?

Order validation is most valuable for operations that experience any of the following:

Frequent customer complaints about wrong or missing items
Multi-line orders with multiple SKUs and quantities per order
High-value goods where a wrong item is costly
High-volume operations where manual checking doesn't scale
Marketplace sellers subject to A-to-Z or similar claims
Subscription box brands with complex, changing box contents

Order validation in PackVision is available on Standard and Pro plans and doesn't require any hardware changes — just an API connection or CSV upload to get your orders into the system.
